Multi-Mission Data Processing System Study

Image
Multi-Mission Data Processing System Study NASA's Earth Science Data Systems (ESDS) Program is committed to making the data it oversees findable, accessible, interoperable, and reusable (FAIR). The more than 100 petabytes (PB) of data in NASA's Earth Observing System Data and Information System (EOSDIS) archive are on the verge of exponential growth from numerous planned high-data-volume missions. Current estimates project that the volume of NASA Earth science data could grow to nearly 600 PB by 2030. In keeping with NASA’s open data policies, data from these missions will be available as early in the mission process as feasible. Developing a Mission Data Processing System (MDPS) that will ensure the most transparent processing and delivery of future NASA mission and project data is vital. The MDPS is the set of algorithms, software, compute infrastructure, operational procedures, documentation, and teams that process raw instrument data into science quality data products. The ...

Acoustic Aging of Low-Noise Pavements

Acoustic Aging of Low-Noise Pavements Acoustic aging refers to the gradual deterioration of the noise-reducing performance of low-noise pavements, such as porous asphalt and thin surface layers, over time. While these pavements are initially designed to reduce tire–road interaction noise by absorbing sound and dispersing air pressure, their effectiveness declines due to clogging of pores by dust, dirt, and rubber particles, surface wear, weathering, and binder hardening. This leads to a rise in noise emissions back toward conventional pavement levels. Medical Therapies for Acromegaly

Medical Therapies for Acromegaly  Somatostatin Analogues (SSAs) Drugs: Octreotide, Lanreotide, Pasireotide Mechanism: Mimic natural somatostatin to inhibit growth hormone (GH) secretion from the pituitary gland. Use: First-line medical therapy when surgery is not fully effective or feasible. Effect: Reduces GH and IGF-1 levels, shrinks pituitary tumors in some patients. Growth Hormone Receptor Antagonist Drug: Pegvisomant Mechanism: Blocks GH action at its receptor, preventing IGF-1 production in the liver. Use: Particularly effective in normalizing IGF-1 levels even when GH remains high. Effect: Controls symptoms and metabolic complications but does not shrink the tumor. Dopamine Agonists Drugs: Cabergoline, Bromocriptine Mechanism: Stimulate dopamine receptors, reducing GH secretion in some patients. Use: Often in mild cases or combined with SSAs for better control. Effect: Less potent than SSAs, but oral administration make...

HIVE Digital Technologies Surpasses 20 EH/s Bitcoin Mining Capacity

Image
HIVE Digital Technologies Surpasses 20 EH/s Bitcoin Mining Capacity Key Takeaways:HIVE Digital Technologies (HIVE, Financial) has achieved a significant milestone in Bitcoin mining capacity, reaching over 20 Exahash per second (EH/s). The company's hash rate has increased by approximately 233% since the start of the year, with plans to further enhance capacity to 25 EH/s. HIVE's operations are supported by renewable hydroelectric energy, highlighting its commitment to sustainable practices. HIVE Digital Technologies (HIVE) has achieved a notable milestone by reaching over 20 Exahash per second (EH/s) in global Bitcoin mining capacity. This achievement follows the installation of ASICs at its new Valenzuela facility in Paraguay, which is powered by renewable hydroelectric energy from the Itaipu Dam. The company's hash rate has surged by approximately 233% since the start of the year, enabling HIVE to mine 9 Bitcoin per day with an efficiency of 18 Joules per Terahash (J/TH)....

Boosting Heat Transfer with Innovative Fins!

Image
Boosting Heat Transfer with Innovative Fins! Heat transfer plays a crucial role in industries ranging from electronics cooling to power generation, refrigeration, and automotive engineering  . Engineers and researchers have continuously explored methods to enhance heat exchange efficiency, reduce energy consumption, and ensure durability of systems. One of the most promising advancements in this field is the use of  innovative fins —structures designed to increase the surface area for heat dissipation and optimize fluid flow. The concept may sound simple, but its applications are transforming the way modern systems operate  . At the core of this revolution lies the principle that larger surface areas promote better heat exchange. Fins act like extended arms of a system, drawing heat away from the primary source and releasing it into the environment more effectively. With technological advancements, new fin geometries, materials, and designs have emerged, drasticall...

Epigenetic Potential

Epigenetic Potential  Epigenetic potential refers to the capacity of cells, tissues, or organisms to alter gene expression patterns without changing the underlying DNA sequence. This potential is driven by reversible molecular modifications such as DNA methylation, histone modification, chromatin remodeling, and non-coding RNA regulation . It provides a mechanism for cellular plasticity, developmental programming, environmental adaptation, and disease susceptibility . In health, epigenetic potential allows stem cells to differentiate into multiple lineages and enables organisms to respond to environmental cues like diet, stress, or toxins. In disease contexts, altered epigenetic potential may contribute to cancer progression, neurological disorders, and metabolic dysfunctions . Harnessing this potential through epigenetic therapies, biomarkers, and precision medicine is an emerging frontier in biotechnology and medical research. Web Site :  sensors.sciencefather.com ...

Epigenetic potential of nonpharmacological intervention in oncology

Image
Epigenetic potential of nonpharmacological intervention in oncology Cancer is a major public health problem in the USA and many other countries in the world. It is one of the leading causes of morbidity and mortality worldwide. Epigenetics has been around for 20 years, Ayurveda has been around for over 5000 years. Both have come to very similar conclusions. Epigenetic research confirms traditional ancient knowledge that diet, lifestyle, and mindfulness can all be used to fight disease and promote health. Epigenetics (Lifestyle) (literally, control beyond genetics) is a new field of biology that is exploring the Effect of the environment on cellular behavior. Poll Do you exercise in the morning? YesNoThe "environment" includes one's physical, social, and electromagnetic environment as well as beliefs, perceptions, lifestyle, habits, behaviors, and mind-body practices such as Pranic healing. There is an old saying in Ayurveda that goes, “what you see, you become.” It’s an ...

Machine-learning tool gives doctors a more detailed 3D picture of fetal health

Image
Machine-learning tool gives doctors a more detailed 3D picture of fetal health MIT CSAIL researchers developed a tool that can model the shape and movements of fetuses in 3D, potentially assisting doctors in finding abnormalities and making diagnoses. Caption:Fetal SMPL was trained on 20,000 MRI volumes to predict the location and size of a fetus and create sculpture-like 3D representations. The approach could enable doctors to precisely measure things like the size of a baby’s head and compare these metrics with healthy fetuses at the same age. Credits:Image: Alex Shipps and Yingcheng Liu/MIT CSAIL For pregnant women, ultrasounds are an informative (and sometimes necessary) procedure. They typically produce two-dimensional black-and-white scans of fetuses that can reveal key insights, including biological sex, approximate size, and abnormalities like heart issues or cleft lip. If your doctor wants a closer look, they may use magnetic resonance imaging (MRI), which uses magnetic field...
