The Schematic Diagram of Automotive Sensor Signal Conditioning

The Schematic Diagram of Automotive Sensor Signal Conditioning

The vehicle sensor is an input device of the automobile computer system. It converts the car’s operating conditions into electrical signals and send to computer, such as vehicle speed, medium temperature, engine operating conditions, etc.

There are many vehicle sensors, when you analyze a sensor failure. You should not only consider the sensor itself, but consider the whole circuit.Therefore, when you are looking for a failure, in addition to inspecting the sensor, you should check the wiring harness, the connector and the relevant circuit between the sensor and the electronic control unit.

The ZSSC3170 from ZMDI company, is an automotive sensor signal conditioner which integrates PWM interface, with a maximum analog gain of 420 and extended offset compensation:

1. The device is compatible with the forest indicator 1.3 / 2.0 / 2.1;

2. Data conversion rate is up to 430Hz;

3. Power supply voltage 7 – 18V;

4. The resolution of the ADC is 13-14 bits;

5. The output resolution is up to 12 bits;

6. The sleep mode current consumption is less than 100uA.

This article describes the main features of the ZSSC3170, block diagrams and multiple application circuits.
